The Apulian tarallo was probably born in the early 1400s: a poor and simple product, it was prepared in peasant houses and offered to guests together with a glass of wine. Tarallo has been so successful in Italy and abroad that it has become a real typical product and has recently gained the name PAT, Traditional Italian Agri-food Product.Tasting and pairings: Suitable for an aperitif, as an accompaniment to olives and cold cuts.
